Darkhorse,
I don't know where you are in California but Kennedy Engineered Products is in Palmdale (phone number above from Nitroguy). They are always willing to discuss your project requirements over the phone and are very helpful and knowledgeable.

KEP has the kit to use the older small block chevy with the 016 Audi but they do not do one for the LS engines. I have a kit for the LS engines to the 016 and also the 01E and the Porsche Boxster/Cayman transmissions.

EAMartin (Eric) made an adaptor for me and I found the quality and the service provided by him to be excellent. From my experience I would recommend him. |

I am also using EAMartin's adapter (LS1 to cayman transmission). Very good quality.

I have been advised, by more than one person, that the Audi Tx is not strong enough for LS Series engines. I don't know and I don't mean to start a debate on that subject, just saying.

| There has been considerable debate about the strength of the 016 transaxle in several places including the GT40 forum. There have been quite a few GT40s built with them and the general consensus is that they are good for about 400 HP or maybe a little more if you do not abuse them. How durable they are depends a lot on the drivers style. Some drivers can break anything and others can make a weak transmission last forever. |

EAMartin,
That's about what I have heard about them. Great for a stock small block, a little "iffy" for a modestly modified one and probably not for a loaded one or an LS.
Also, I definitely agree with your last sentence!
