Post subject: help with fiero stretch for murci kit  PostPosted: Nov 27, 2011 - 06:00 PM

Just picked up my fiero, and I'm about to stretch it for the murci kit from carkitinc.

Why does the stretch have to be performed behind the firewall? It appears like it would be ALOT easier to do in front of the firewall, and I have several very tall friends, so the extra room would be a big plus for me, not to mention the extra room for subwoofer enclosures, ect.

I have noticed that the MR2 and Boxster stretches have been done in the cabin, so can someone shed some light on this for me?

very good question, i am well over the 6 foot mark and im contemplating doing the exact same thing. i was thinking of doing a 2 inch cabin stretch and an 8.5" stretch behind the firewall. from everything i can see this is very doable and not too much more work than the other stretch

looking forward to see what others think

You would have to relocate the rear window mount area, the rear deck lid hinge points and possibly the quarter window mount pads. very hard job for an extra 2'' of interior space. Not worth the extra work.
