Hi Guys :

anyone have a cross section sketch of what their air Ducts look like coming into the body down to the radiator out the fan shroud and fan.

I think I am missing a piece.

dB...........

Go to my Flickr page. (See link in my signature below) I have three pictures of my air ducts there.

I just recently worked on a D&R car in New York with those ducts installed. (I didn't install them on mine).
The car had an overheating issue even after installing the Spal fans. The fans just didn't seem to blow as hard as mine. There was an access panel to get into the fans on the forward side of the rad duct. This panel was one foot square and riveted into place.
I removed the rivets and pulled the panel off while the fans were running. I had to peel it off as the vacuum was holding the panel in place. What a difference, now the fans can breath.
Had some metal mesh installed over the one foot square opening and now the problem is solved.
Keep in mind, the inner fender is installed too to protect the rad from rocks on the road.

Hi,
Thanks for the info.
I have a gap at the top of the radiator that spills over to the backside where the fans and tail lights are at. I am thinking the intake is spilling over the top (path of least resistance) and not going thru the radiator. I can idle for an hour easy but driving is still 20_30 minutes max at 85F ambient.

dB...
I have a metal shield in front of my taillights to keep the heat from melting the plastic taillight housings. That also directs the air flow down to the radiators. In my pictures I have an aluminum panel that directs the air to the topmost part of the radiator. simple is best.

Hi,

Yep, I am going to fabricate something to block the lights and totally feed the front of the radiator dB.
