im thinking about getting rid of my fiero and doing a tube chassis, looking towards a naerc chassis, my question is when building this what does this chassis use for suspension ? are the components off the shelf parts or are they custom parts that need to be fabbed up ?

if anybody can shed abt of light that would be great

thanks

All custom parts for the control arms & bushings. Brakes & steering components are off the shelf.

You can fab up the arms yourself if you can weld the entire frame. The naerc plans have you do just that.
The bushings are machined out of plastic or rubber or you can even buy them on ebay.
The plans are good and if you have a problem there are a few people on here that can guide you in the right direction.

BTW, this is a modification from the naerc bushing. This is what I did on my yellow car. I did not bother with the special machined steel inserts for these bushings. I simply made steel tubes for the center. 3/4"O.D. X 1/2" I.D. dom tubing.

Do you guys think these will work? The only thing I see is that the bushings will be separated by 1/2" in the middle

I changed my suspension to use different bushing, the house bushing was swaped to 42mm O.D. 37mm I.D. and I am using same type of bushing Audi, BMW, ect uses
It has an outer steel tube of 37mm rubber and a inner tube with a 12.8mm hole for a .5" bolt and they are 50mm wide.
Look at this pic:
