Well, I can proudly say, it took forever to get it designed, get all the bugs out and get all the pcs lined up, but it's finally ready!!

This is the latest and greatest shifter mechanism for thse Audi 016 transaxle.

http://www.auditransparts.com/

It has a few unique features such as:
Every pivot is adjustable for leverage, throw, position and angle
Does not require drilling any holes in case
Roller bearings, needle bearings and bushings used throughout
TIG welded 1/4" steel main bracket
All arms can be rotated to adjust throw and/or cable angle
This unit can replace any other out there as long as cables have 1/4-28 ends

I was able to keep the price reasonable at $275 including freight in the USA

Thanks guys. I spent a huge amount of time on this one. Next I'm onto the gear changer (shifter) in the car to go with it.

I tried to address all the problems I had to deal with when using the other model. One of the major problems I ran into was the cable angle. By the time the cables cleared the bellhousing and adapter plate, the angle was too severe and wanted to bind at the joint on the shifter.

You can't see it in the photo, but the gate lever (for/aft) is adjustable in 20degree increments front to back via a hex pattern . It's also adjustable towards/away from the trans body via 1/4" spacers.

The top ears ( 1-2/3-4 gate) are also adjustable with regards to angle via a gear pattern. I have it set at 90 degrees in the photo, but you can get it about every 10 degrees by rotating it a tooth either way. This will assure the cables are able to come in at a straight shot to the levers, avoiding kink.

Then of course each ear is drilled and tapped with multiple holes which will give you adjustment for your throw, effort, and gear lever position in the car.

I didn't mention it but I can also knock off another $40 if anyone wants it without the rod ends for the cables.

I had 10 of em made this first run, and they are ready to go, let me know

Mike,

Very very nice. Every fabricated item I got from you was top notch and looking at the picture of this shifter looks very durable.

Keep up good work.

Hi guys, I know this is an old post, I missed out on the chance of getting Mike O's shifter linkage, I am wanting to know if anyone has any pics or vids of Mike O's shifter linkage? I am in need of one as my current setup is wearing out.

I have already talk to Mike and all his info on this is lost, If you can please email me with anything you may have on this I would greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Sam, maybe you should gave this re-engineered so it can be sold again. Unless MikeO has a patent on it. Others just might need this

Hey Run, Yup As much as I agree with you, and thought about it, definitely something like this needs to be reproduced and preserved for others in need, But I still would run this by Mike O first out of respect of his hard work and designing, especially if he does or didnít have a patent on it, this is his baby and I donít want to cross that boundary without his permission..... ok some may call me mr. goody two shoes...lol it's all good.

But I have reached out to him to let him know I have this so I look to hear from him soon.

Yeah shifting my 6 speed with my 4 speed shifter is a bit of a guessing game. Wish I had a nicer one for sure.

Thanks,
Coop

This cost me about $40 and still works perfectly to this day.
