mid engine application

what issues can I expect

all other options I was looking at fell through for various reasons

The 5-speed is the same as the Audi 012 and not that strong. Definitely not as strong as the 01E. However the 6-speed from the Boxster S or Cayman is much better. It is the one I recommend to my customers as it is readily available and has the linkage for a mid-engine cable shifter.

Do you think the jdinner-style reinforced audi 016 with 944 LSD is stronger than the 012?

I need a 5speed to fit the Diablo shift-gate pattern

H-shift-pattern 5speed mid engine transmissions
with this shift gate pattern:
1 3 5
R 2 4

the Porsche 915 inverted transmissions obstruct the rear suspension (the car is already built)

the only choices Im aware of now are
1)Audi 016,
2)Audi 012 (Which is in the fullsize audi A-8 ),
3)Mendeola MD5 (which is $9k but can handle 400+hp)
4) porsche 915 w flipped gears not inverted might fit????

confused Sad

Yes, with the plate and the 4-spider diff. it would be stronger. The only down side is if you do ever need parts some are no longer available.
