I just got my steel to start my chassis build! I am real excited for this build. I have been gathering parts for a couple years. I want to know, would it be a good idea to use OEM Diablo bushings? It seems like for the hassle and price of making them, I can just buy the bushings for a little more. Any info on the pros and cons of doing this would be very helpful! Thanks!

You have to check the outer diameter. it should be get in the bushing house with a certain preassure. I have changed my bushing housing inner size to use bushing I make similar to OEM.

If you follow the naerc plans it is extremely expensive.
If you follow my plans is is under $80.00 for the entire car.

Looks great! I just talked to a friend that has been a front end mechanic at Ford for over 20 years. He strongly recomends rubber bushings. What bushing is that? Did you use a differnet size tube for the bushing? Thanks for the help.

I had them made. The tube is 42mm O.D. 37mm I.D. The bushing is 37.05 O.D. with a 12.8mm hole for a .5" (12.7mm) bolt.
On the rear hub I am using the same 42mm with 37mm tube. The bushing is the same, just the bolt hole is 16.1 mm for 16mm bolts.
the bushing will not turn, just the inner rubber with twist and it can twist up to 10%, which is more than enough travel.
It will be smoother and no risk of squeekings.

Here are the OEM Diablo bushing Measurements:
diamter 1.185"
ID 0.472"
length 1.850"

In my opinion these are not compatible with the NAERC A-arms, or the A-arm brackets. I just thought this information should be out there! Smile
