Hi I just bought a IFG kit that I won off of ebay I picked it up for a good price I tought it was the body kit and trhe tube chassis they sell. But now I have been reading this and hear about the front clips on this particular kit. I havent even pickedthe kit up yet and I am realy nervous of what to expect. I just dont want to sink a fortion in my dream car and it turn out to be a wack looking vehicle, Does anyone no what can be done/or to do about this front end or am I just getting nervous for nothing!

Here is what I have done on other cars. Locate the area you want to correct, find a good picture on LamboCars.com or LamboLounge.com of the area. Take a picture at exactly the angle if possible.
Put both pictures into a photo editor and make one of them semi-transparent. Overlay them to see the differences.
Cut with a sawzall and screwnail the panels into place using sheet metal. When you have it right refiberglass everything from underneath and/or the top. The sheet metal will act as a mold so are not dealing with fiberglass in mid air. Remove the screws and fill the holes with short strand fiberglass, bondo, then prime.

I have molds for the factory 6.0 fenders and bumper. If it bothers you that much you could cut your front end off and splice mine in. I don't think you can mix match the fenders and bumpers I have seen it done on factory cars and it looks wrong. The best bet is to replace the whole front clip.

I dont know that it bothers me so much. I realy dont know the difference between a real front end off a diablo or the dopy from IFG. But I am trying to find out what others have been talking about. I have never built a kit before (so you can see my need to know)! I just want to make sure that I am going to be sinking the money in the right "money pit". I think if I could just look at something that was clear and distinctive I would be an rest and move on to figure out where direction to take.

Not to quibble but, why isn't this thread in the 6.0 category?

Building a 6.0

P.S. now you have me looking at my IFG front end wondering what is wrong with it and what can I do about it.

I wouldn't call the iFG front end "ugly".
It may not be the best "copy" of the original but quality cars have been built from IFG bodies. I have a lot of respect for anyone who completes a Lambo. We all owe these builders respect and admiration for their dedication to our passion.
Their finished cars are worthy of admiration regardless of any bias we might have.

Nothing CCIE, he is talking about the IFG pre 6.0 bodies.
I borrowed this image of Dale VanBloklands. It has nothing to do with workmanship at all. It is the way IFG did it a long time ago.
