Hi All,

first, let me apologize for the fact that KC has been off line for the past two days.

Unfortunately, as you all know, there are very unscrupulous people out there that spend lots of time trying to take over computers through viruses, bots and worms.

These types of attacks have been occurring with greater frequency over the past few months, and while Kit Central has been able to weather the storm quite well, that changed on Sunday night.

While the server it's hosted on wasn't hacked in the traditional sense where the hacker gained total over the machine, it was compromised to the point that the server was used to start broadcasting spam.

The way the script kiddies managed to do this was through Kit Central's aging PostNuke + PNphpBB2 software, so we had to either upgrade KC or take it down, possibly for good.

Our love for this community and the information that has accumulated here over the past near-decade allowed us decide to do what it takes to keep the community going, so we've been working on upgrading the software.

Again, unfortunately, the versions of PostNuke and PNphpBB2 were so long in the tooth that the upgrade process hasn't been going all that well.

While forums have been migrated, you will notice that the build diaries have not. We'll endeavor to get this back online as soon as possible. In the meantime, the forums are back online for your enjoyment and kit car fix.

Thanks for your ongoing patience,

Krys and Duncan

PS: as the upgrade feature of PostNuke didn't work we had to kludge it together. Registrations and posting seem to be working fine but if you come across anything truly weird, please send us a PM or email to [admin at groovy dash web dot com]

I got a question, I would like to voluntarily donate to the forum to help with whatever cost there may be in order to keep this site going, I'm sure it's not free to run this place. Perhaps there could be a paypal section where you may be able to donete if you wish. It's just, to be honest with you, I would have never even gotten the motivation and desire that I now have to complete my build.
What do you guys think?
