Check the vacuum line from the intake manifold to the MAP sensor. Passenger side top of the motor.

Sounds like a fuel problem. Fuel filter first and if that does not wark, try a new fuel pump.

carb cleaner is so great! id disconnect the fuel line from the fuel rail and without starting the car turn the key to see if it fuel comes out because the fuel pump will kick on... if it does come out... check your idle it maybe to low for the car to stay running, but if your car runs horrible while in throttle id move to the injectors after the rail, they may be clogged or one of the injector harnesses might not be secured in place. follow these steps and in 10 mins. youll know your problem..

New fuel pump and it stills won't go past idle with out the carb cleaner. The fuel pump is working.

Vacuum lines are all connected

O2 sensor does not kick in until the engine is warm, is that correct?

Can all the injector get clogged at once?

what happens if you hit the gas? nothing? if not try to throttle it at the throttle body.
if that works your throttle cable needs adjustment. did u pull the fuel line from the fuel rail to see if its getting that far?

When I work on carberated engines, I check for air leaks between the carb and manifold by spraying carb cleaner or either around the base of the carb. Do you think you might be pulling in air around the intake manifold?

Its fuel injected.

I am getting gas to the fuel rail. I can pump the throttle at the throttle body and it will idle rough. Leave it alone and it dies after 2 to 3 seconds.

any check engine lights? maybe a harness was left unplugged, or crossed. also while its running one by one pull the spark wires see if its worse if so put it back then pull another. keep on and if you find that you pulled one and it ran the same thats the cylinder not firring properly if its only 1 cylinder. All the injectors can gum up if it has sat for a long time. if you want to clean them, ive put them in a bowl of carb cleaner shallow enough that the electric hookup is not wet and make sure you take off the orings cause they will swell. soak them over night put the orings back on and they will be cleaned. I had a bike i did that on.

IT WORKS NOW. It turns out the fuel pump was not delivering enough fuel to keep it running.

The car has now passed smog and is legal now up to the interior guy for a new begining
