Has anyone ever built a Kit on a Cavalier or Neon - they both have a wheel base that is about spot on (only off by about an inch). It seems that the engine could probably even stay in the front if the chasis was lowered enough (or body raised slightly - like bart's orange one - it has the front wheel well slightly filled in). The engine is not that powerful, but neither is a fiero's. Besides, you could always drop in a Cadillac V-8 like some have done to their cavaliers! Anyways, it seems like a fairly quick build - no stretching or moving of any piping/wiring - only removing body panels/windshield and dropping the body on. You could probably find a car for under a grand and the total project could cost under 5 grand and you could probably be driving it in under a month! Does anyone have info/pics on this? Thanks all.

Not a good idea at all regardless if its cheap or not. The Cavalier or Neon's have to be the worst cars on our roads today. I mean sure Cav's are dirt cheap and will run forever but they make no power what so ever and not to mention the motor is in the front of the car instead of the back. Good luck trying to line up the body with the chassis.
Then the Neon oh lord! those are problematic! difficult to work on.
Honestly the Fiero win's by default because I can get one ready with a 3800 S/C and full suspension for under 5k. 8k with the chassis modifcations for the body. Its still not bad. All you'll need is a body 5k and interior 3k and other stuff 3k and after paint and everything it will come to just under 28k.
