here is more information:

this is the difference between the

thwap thwap putta thwap thwap putta thwap putta from a GM or Ford

and the Vrumm mmm mmm mmm mmm mmm from a Lamborghini/Ferrari

the 180 degree headers even out the exhaust pulses of a multiplane-crank-engine from a offset pulse to a smooth note.

Well, you're thinking is right, but there is a lot more to it than that. I have used the same style headers on a SBC and while it did alter the exhaust sound, there's no way it sounded like a 4.0 italian engine. It's just not possible to do. Cam timing, plus you have 5.3 liters and 8cyl of heavy aluminum slugs going around. They just aren't going to have the wrap sound or burble the italian engines do. I can post the video on youtube if you like to hear what it sounds like.

Seth:
Mike is right , no matter how hard we try to get the v-12 sound
it ain't going to happen with a V-8. Look on my build pictures and you will see the headers that i made. I am in the process of making another set
for my SB.2.2 heads , and this time i am going to 1 7/8 diameter primarys.
I let you hear as soon as i complete.

Dewey

I wouldn't go that far,
I had the same opinion a few years back. I hung out with a certain group of guys whos motto was.. go big or maybe you should just go home!
this was my last ride http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6O2EPqqBP0
but then i completly read the make up and engineerig on the M70 (V12) by BMW. I found out that i had to build any one of the american V8 (at a substantial cost) to match the BMW in stock form. The stock V12 doesnt put out much power 300hp( i think) but the bottom end can handle up to 700 in its stock form!!! And being all aluminum well that just takes the cake...dont you think? I plan to twin turbo mine and upgrade the trans when i do so. So there really is no comparison , having to build up a domestic v8 to the standards of the M70. "Never Again"

1. It has 2 oil pumps, the first takes from the sump and feeds the second wich feeds the engine
2. The coolong system feeds the rear of the engine first where there is less air flow
3. Crank shaft is forged steel
4. Connecting rods are forged steel
5. pistons are low mass light Alloy pistons
6. Has A windage tray
7. 4 bolt main caps
8. And so on and on and on

Seth have you actually heard a BMW 12 that is being used in anger???

try this on for size...

http://www.ultimav12.ca/ and watch video 4

in addition to the things that Mike listed, I have seen 300k engines that when taken apart still spec as new, try that with a sbc, or any other engine.

Dinan also built these engines to over 600hp so there is plenty of power to be had

I will need lots of luck, so thank you It shouldn't be any different than a GT40, I can't tell the difference between a chevy 350 and a ford 351. The sound the same to me.
