I am sure it will fit with a lot of modifications. Why not try tubular chassis?
I am using LS1 with 6spd cayman tranny with adapter from Erik Martin in my build.
If you consider that, keep in mind this is not a cheap combination. This will run about $7-8k alone. Then you have to build your own or have somebody build the axles for this system. That depends on what hubs you are going to use. Jim Dinner have a post here on how to build your own axles and it works very nice.

thanks, i just started looking into the tubular chassis, witch i really like, i like how everything is clean and to spec. however im not sure about the cost, labor wise it would take forever to. but i do know it would be alot better! do you know anyone who builds and sells chassis?

no idea who builds chassis; however i would recommend have somebody locally do the chassis for you. You can buy plans and do it yourself or have local welder do the chassis. Even if somebody builds and sells you the chassis there is still plenty of welding based on the type of body you have, brackets, door hinges etc.

The thing you should also be aware of is that you can "over power" the typical fiero build. There are some exceptions like RT's he started with a fiero and only part of the tub remains. Tube chassis builds can get over 20k to get a roller so be prepared for that.

There is nothing wrong with the SBC, it has been a favorite for so long for a reason. The biggest being that it makes good reliable power cheaply. The LS' are comming down and are lighter weight.

My point is that power cost $$$$$ and not in the places that you first think of.
ie the cost of 600hp
engine 5-10k
chassis 10-15k
brakes 3-10k
trans 5-20k
axles 750-2k
cooling system etc etc etc

that is neary 60k in parts (using the larger figure) and you have not added the kit, misc stuff (brackets, lines, ac, etc) or labor to build....

See how the money adds up?
